TERRIO Therapy-Fitness is proud to bring Bakersfield the One Ton Weight Loss Challenge. Kern County is rated one of the worst places in America when it comes to obesity. This competition is just the first part of TERRIO's master plan to get Bakersfield to lose weight and get healthy.

TERRIO's weight loss competitions began this past February with the Country's Biggest Loser competition. We chose 20 contestants out of almost 500 to take part in the competition for free. In addition we offered the same exact program the contestants were doing to the public for a reduced cost. The 20 contestants lost a total of 808 lbs in just 10 weeks for an average loss of over 40 lbs each. Click here to view the success of the Country's Biggest Loser contest. Both the contestants and paid participants of the Country's Biggest Loser did so well that we decided to more competitions using the same template. We started both the Bakersfield's Biggest Loser (a parent-teen team competition) and the Fresno's Biggest Loser competitions and we are having similar success. Click here to follow their progress.

We decided to change things up a bit and offer the competition to not just 20 people, but to anyone who would like to participate! We have come up with the One Ton Challenge - an effort to get all the contestants participating to lose a combined ton of weight, or 2000 lbs. Although it sounds like a lot we are confident that with at least 50 contestants participating (losing an average of 40 lbs each) we can reach our goal and make Bakersfield healthier.
